The dementia programs were specifically designed to meet the needs of patients with memory impairment, Alzheimer's and dementia. It provides a comfortable, home-like setting, where patients receive the specialized care and attention they need to live with as much dignity and independence as possible. Staff members in the Reflections unit are specially trained and experienced in working with patients with memory impairment. We also work to keep caretaker assignments consistent and to maintain the optimum staff-to-patient ratio.
THE PROGRAMs INCLUDE:
Comprehensive services to meet the medical needs of our residents.
The dementia unit has its own dining room, designed to accommodate the special needs of unit residents. Nutritional and feeding assistance is provided as needed.
Caring support for caregivers of all ages.
Activities programming for the dementia units are designed with the special needs of dementia patients in mind. Our structured, specialized program offers therapeutic activities that focus on the needs of memory-impaired residents. Programs include group and one-on-one activities--and family members are always welcome!
Many patients with Alzheimer's or dementia exhibit wandering behaviors that can endanger their safety. These residents require a higher level of supervision and security, and our dementia units provide that. The unit is furnished with a secure outdoor walking area, and a unit-wide locking system. The units are also small enough that patients can transfer from one setting to another without leaving the secure environment.
